FAQs
Does Oak and Anchor take insurance?
Oak and Anchor Counseling is in network with Cigna, Anthem, Aetna, and Optima. Not all clinicians are in-network with each insurance provider.
What if I do not have insurance?
If we are not an in-network provider with your insurance, or you do not have insurance, you can choose to pay for your sessions privately. Intake Sessions: $160 (70-85 minutes) and ongoing Individual/Couple Sessions: $135 (50-55 minutes).
What if you are an out-of-network provider?
If we are not an in-network provider with your insurance, you can use your out-of-network benefits to see reimbursement from your insurance company. The best way to determine what portion of the fee may or may not be reimbursed is to contact your insurance provider directly. On the back of your insurance card is a phone number for customer services to seek information about mental health or behavioral health services. Some questions that might be helpful to ask your insurance are:
What are my "out-of-network" outpatient mental health benefits?
How much of each therapy session will your insurance provider reimburse?
Do I need to meet a deductible (the amount of money you must pay before your insurance company will start to reimburse you) before my benefits begin paying for out-of-network providers? Have I already paid any of this deductible?
Are there any limitations to services (e.g., only a certain amount of money allowed for mental health reimbursements, a limited number of sessions, reimbursement only for certain types of diagnoses, etc.)?
Do you need any special referral (e.g., from a primary care doctor) before I can be reimbursed?
How long will it take to get reimbursed after I mail my receipt?
Where do I need to mail or email my receipt?
How do I choose the counselor that is right for me?
We know our people well and take the initiative to match you, as this decision should not be arbitrary. Of course, we will weigh other factors, such as any concerns or requests you have concerning what therapist to see.
How long is a session?
Sessions are generally about 55 minutes in length.
What payment methods are accepted?
We accept Visa, Master Card, and Discover cards for payment.
Do you prescribe medication?
We provide mental health counseling services and do not prescribe medication. If medication management is needed, you will need to consult with your Doctor or a Psychiatrist.
What is the difference between the credentials of your therapists?
